A guide to our grading descriptions

Our condition ratings are only a guide, we endeavor to give the most complete and accurate description of an item, however we aren't always perfect.

Cameras & Lenses come only with front, rear or body caps. They do not come with hoods, boxes, manuals, etc. unless otherwise stated.

All of our equipment is in full working order and comes with 6 months guarantee (12 months guarantee for Leica).

As New condition -

Virtually unused.

Mint condition -

No visible marks.

Nr. Mint condition -

Would have a small cosmetic mark, usually a rub mark on the body/barrel of the camera/lens.

Mint- condition -

1 or 2 very light cosmetic marks, usually only a small light rub mark on the barrel/body. These marks would only be visible under close inspection, at arms length they would not be visible.

Exc+++ condition -

1 or 2 very light cosmetic marks. These marks would only be visible under close inspection, at arms length they would not be visible.

Exc++ condition -

Would overall be in very clean condition however there might be some small cosmetic marks and in some places (usually on the edges) it might have just gone through the paint. A majority of these marks would only be visible under close inspection, at arms length only 1 or 2 marks might be visible.

Exc+ condition -

Would overall be in clean condition however there might be some small cosmetic marks and occasionally in some places (usually on the edges) it might have just gone through the paint. A majority of these marks would only be visible under close inspection, at arms length 1 or 2 marks might be visible. Occasionally there might be a small mark on one of the optics, but nothing that would effect optical performance.

Exc condition -

will show some signs of use (not abuse). The cosmetic marks would be visible at arms length, occasionally there might be a small mark on one of the optics, but nothing that would effect optical performance.

User condition -

Will have quite significant cosmetic wear, maybe slight marks on the optics, still fully working.

Most of our used equipment is from keen amateurs and is in full working order and comes with a six months guarantee (12 moths for Leica M & R series), unless otherwise stated.

Lenses will very rarely have any marks on the elements and no fungus, if they do we try our best to point out all the cosmetic marks and imperfections.

We try to be as critical, overly picky about the condition of our equipment I would also like to point out we try our best to be overly picky and quite stringent about condition.
