Film Processing at Aperture (all prices are VAT included)

Aperture Photographic offers an on site processing and printing service in Central London. We provide C41 (Colour Negative) processing for 35mm and 120 (Colour Negative) as well as our hand processed black & white service. We can also scan from already developed transparencies, black and white or colour negatives to provide digital files or prints.

If you are further afield or too busy to visit us, we also accept processing orders by post or we can post the order back to you when it has been completed. Please send us your order with your payment details or contact us for further information.

Colour Film Processing Prices (C41)

Usual turnaround time is within 24 to 48 hours depending on the service required. Collection time will be advised when you drop off your film. Otherwise please call in advance in case the lab is very busy as we run extended turnaround times during busy periods.

35mm Develop only …..£7.00   (Negatives are cut and sleeved into strips of four by default)

35mm Develop + Scan …..£11.00   (A Standard 35mm scan will be around 1.5Mb with a pixel size of 2700 x 1800 at 72 dpi)

35mm Develop + Scan + Print ….. £16.00

35mm Develop + Print ….. £14.00   (Our standard print size is 7.5″ x 5″ printed on lustre finish paper with white border)                                                                                                        (Smaller 6×4″ prints or gloss finish available on request)

Extra set of prints ….. £6.00   (order within 7 days)

High resolution scan ….. £4.00 extra   (File size of around 13Mb with a pixel size of 6700 x 4500 at 72 dpi)

High res scan in Tiff files ….. £7.00 extra   (File size of around 85Mb with a pixel size of 6700 x 4500 at 72 dpi)                                                                                                                              Customer must provide us with a PC compatible usb drive or other media storage in advance

Print size for 120 roll film will be in proportion to the format. ie: (6 × 4.5 = 6″ x 4.5″) (6 × 6 = 6″ x 6″) (6 × 7 = 6″ x 7″) (6 × 9 = 6″ x 9″)

A Standard 6 x 6 scan will be around 2.5 Mb, with a pixel size of 2050 x 2050 at 72 dpi

High resolution scan ……….. £4.00 extra   (6 x 6 scan will be around 20Mb, with a pixel size of 4800 x 4800 at 72 dpi)

High res scan in Tiff files ….. £7.00 extra   (6 x 6 scan will be around 130Mb, with a pixel size of 4800 x 4800 at 96 dpi)                                                                                                                 Customer must provide us with a PC compatible usb drive or other media storage in advance

Our black and white service operates on a weekly turnaround. Please check with our staff when you drop off film for processing as the collection date may change during periods of high volume.

Negative Scanning

We can scan your old developed colour or black and white negatives onto CD. For customers without a CD drive, please leave us a blank usb drive or other media storage when dropping off film for scanning.

Terms and Conditions

Aperture aims to maintain the highest level of care when developing and printing your films. In the event of loss or damage to your film, negatives or prints whilst in our care, from any cause, our liability will be limited to the cost of replacing the film, which we undertake to develop and print free of charge. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Please note that Aperture is providing a consumer service and does not accept any additional responsibility for material of a professional or commercial value.

Copyright

It is a criminal offence under the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 knowingly to infringe copyright and it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all material supplied to Aperture for processing, copying or reproduction is free from any third party claim of copyright infringement. Orders are accepted on the clear understanding of the following:

  • The customer owns the copyright or that the work is out of copyright.
  • The customer has the copyright owner’s written consent, in which case the written consent must accompany the order and work supplied.
  • The customer undertakes to indemnify Aperture against all costs, claims, damages and losses of any nature arising from any action or claim brought by a third party in respect of alleged infringement of copyright.
